Plot and Review:

This book has been on my list to read for a while and I do not know why I did not just crack it open sooner. It is a fast read and yet so full of interesting things to think about and relate to that sometimes the reader simply wants to stop and think. At first, I was not sure about this book because of the many references to the various famous poems used in class. All these poems are in an appendix in the back of the book which makes it a wonderful teaching tool. The reader can make the connections from the famous poems to those written by Jack, the narrator of the book. Jack is not sure about his writing skills at the beginning and he slowly comes into his own. He finds his voice as the excerpt on the back of the book tells us. I highly recommend this book to feel good and to explore the ideas of finding your own thoughts. Anyone can write.
