Plot:
Delilah finds an old fairy tale in her high school library. She loves the story and has read it many times. What she does not know id every time the book closes, the characters come alive. They have lives beyond the story. When the book is opened, they are all forced back to their pages. One day, the price charming of the story attempts to talk to Delilah and she hears him. He wants to find a way out of the story and into real life. She begins to talk with him often to brainstorm ideas. Will she be able to get him out?
Review:
This story is told from two different perspectives. Delilah's story is one that is focused on her schooling and her family. She does not have many friends and finds the prince very wonderful. The prince wants so much to be out of the book and into the outside world. Both people are unhappy with their lives and want a change. This story mixes fantasy with reality and is a new experience for young readers. Jodi Picoult is an adult writer who has come together with her daughter Samantha Van Leer to write this tale. It is enchanting and I would recommend it to many tweens.
